Manure Pit
Jack developed the manure pit with a concrete floor and a roof so that the manure would retain its richness for use as fertilizer.
The stone farm buildings, the Manure Pit, the Stallion Barn were built by Italian stonemasons Jack had hired. The Sherry Barn, part of the old winery, had been built by Chinese workman. These buildings are all in good condition today though some deterioration can be seen - especially in the old the Sherry Barn.
